A YOGA group was stumped when its Australian-born teacher packed up and headed for home.

For four years, Lee Hodges took charge of three Ashtanga classes in Leigh and Hindley Green, but then discovered she was pregnant.

In September, she and her partner, Phil, left their Atherton home for the Antipodes and now the stranded classes are seeking a new teacher.

Eight members of the Leigh group, which meets in All Saints' Church hall, Manchester Road, continued their classes but now they want to move on.

Nurse Alayne Webber said: "We have kept up doing what we were taught but we are stuck. Ashtanga yoga is an intense form of the art and we feel the need to move on, but need help."

The class meets on Mondays between 6.45pm to 8.30pm and Thursdays between 7.30pm and 9pm and any teacher who can help should contact Alayne on 07712 115431.
