WING wizard Dean Calcutt is desperate to reclaim his place in Accrington Stanley's starting line-up.

The 28-year-old has been forced to settle for a place on the bench since starring in the Reds' memorable FA Cup first round win over Huddersfield two weeks ago.

But he is bidding to come back with a bang in tomorrow's home game against Telford.

"I'm hoping to get back into the side tomorrow and get a run of games together," said Calcutt, who has just recovered from a broken wrist which kept him sidelined for five weeks.

"I'm feeling fit now and want to play. I haven't had any problems with my wrist, apart from it being a bit stiff and probably weak, but I've already fallen on it and it was fine."

Calcutt, who didn't feature in the home win over then leaders Hereford or last week's 2-1 defeat at Stevenage, is fully aware of the threat big spending Telford pose but added: "They've spent a lot of money but haven't gelled together that well.

"They've got good invidiuals though and if we get them on a good day they could cause some problems.

"But we've got a good home record and we've got to try to maintain that, especially as our away form is a problem.

"Stevenage are the best side we've played all season. They were well organised and strong.

"I don't know what the problem is with our away form. It's not something that preys on your mind and becomes physcological but we've got into the same habit we had at the end of last season.

"Whatever it is it makes it doubly important that we keep winning at home.

"But last weekend brought us back down to earth with a bump after the cup win and beating Hereford."

Rory Prendergast, who was stretchered off with concussion at Stevenage, must be sidelined for another week under League rules, while Justin Jackson is battling to recover from a groin strain he picked up at Broadhall Way.

The squad will be aiming to bounce back from Tuesday night's 3-1 friendly defeat at home to UniBond First Division side Prescot Cables.

However, manager John Coleman said the game served a valuable purpose.

"We've got a few suspensions coming up with Peter Cavanagh, Steve Hollis and Robbie Williams missing the Barnet game after picking up five bookings," he said.

"Tuesday gave me a chance to have a look at a few things and try things."

About tomorrow's game he added: "Telford didn't start well but are coming into a bit of form. It's up to us to maintain our home form."
