ANDY Farrell could make his first appearance for Padiham tomorrow.

The former Burnley utility man may come in to boost the Storks' depleted side when they entertain Leek CSOB tomorrow.

Anthony McCluskey and Craig Wilkinson are out through suspension, leaving holes in both central midfield and central defence.

But boss Vince Overson hopes the introduction of Farrell will help his side create a gap between them and tenth-placed Leek.

"It's getting a bit tight now in mid-table but if we can sling a few results together in the top third we can pull away from the rest of the pack," he said.

"I was disappointed against Great Harwood last Saturday. If we'd won it would have set us up nicely but it could have gone either way.

"We're expecting a hard game tomorrow because Leek are a hard-working side and they need points as much as we do.

"We need points to get in amongst the leaders, which would be great because we didn't get off to the best of starts, but I never doubted the players' quality."

He added: "Andy might make an appearance or at least be in the squad.

"He's lacking fitness at the moment and he wants to give a good account of himself but I'm sure his experience could carry him through."
