ANGRY residents have joined forces to protest about the proposed closure of a Burnley swimming pool.
Around 75 protesters demonstrated outside Gannow pool, in Sycamore Avenue, Burnley.
The fight to save the baths from being axed has received backing from ward councillor Carol Hughes.
The event was partly organised by resident David Shapcott, who said the aim was to hold more of the peaceful protests until the council changed its mind about the closure.
Mr Shapcott: "These baths are an important facility and are the only ones round here.
The decision to close Gannow pool came in January after the council carried out a review of its leisure services. The council performed a U-turn when it announced Padiham pool would remain open while the Thompson Centre will be bulldozed and replaced with a new leisure centre.
Mr Shapcott added: "It is a Victorian building and only eight-years-ago £100,000 was spent refurbishing it, which, if it closes, would be a waste."
