MONSTER machines of all shapes and sizes were on display at a Ribble Valley pub.

The Hark to Bounty Inn, Slaidburn, hosted a Steam Rally, with plenty of steam engines and a fairground organ on show for visitors.

Even the pub's menu had a steam theme for the traditional event, including a hog roast on Sunday, which helped keep the revellers full of puff.

The show dates back to 1981, and has been held in Slaidburn ever since.

Over the years, the rally has taken in more than £25,000 for charity, helping to benefit plenty of local groups.

This year the proceeds will go to Slaidburn Village.

Enthusiasts enjoying the event this year were treated to the sight of steam engines, tractors, lorries and a 1903 steam 'locomobile'. Among them was a number of vintage cars and side shows, along with trade stands.

Maypole dancing was also put on and there were plenty of other attractions, including a strongman steam engine-pulling contest.
