AN inquest was opened yesterday into the death of a 16-year-old motorcycle enthusiast in Blackpool.
Steven Anderton of Sandon Street, Blackburn, was a student at Witton Park High School.
He died when his motorcycle collided with a wall on the seafront in Little Bispham last Sunday during a time trial event organised by the Fleetwood and District Motorcycle Club.
The teenager made his debut on the motorcycle sprint scene just weeks earlier, at the Hoghton Tower Silver Sprint.
Fellow motorcycle enthusiasts have been paying tribute to Steven and his father Trevor.
The inquest was opened and adjourned by the Blackpool and the Fylde coroner Anne Hind.
