PADIHAM Leisure Centre will close this week to allow for the first stage of a refurbishment programme.
The centre will close on Thursday and Friday while works to tackle water treatment, improve disabled access and changing facilities, update the gym and general changing rooms.
Area manager Paul Foster said the water tanks are being upgraded to meet current regulations.
He said: "The tanks supply all the domestic water to the showers, toilets and washbasins, therefore it is necessary for the centre to be closed during this two day period."
The Thompson Centre and Gannow Pool will be open as normal in the closure. For opening times and information ring the Thompson Centre on 01282 664444, or Gannow Pool on 01282 664477.
