COMMUNITY Beat Manager PC Sue Sanderson has joined forces with residents on her beat in Stoneyholme in a bid to target local grot spots.
Sue has organised a community litter pick in partnership with Asda, Burnley's Community Wardens, Sure Start, the council environmental health department and Lancashire County Council Youth and Community.
The clean-up will take place on July 6, beginning at 11am on Folds Street, with participants divided into teams to see who can clear the most litter.
PC Sanderson said: "I think it's great that so many local residents, agencies and groups are willing to help with the clean up. Hopefully our combined efforts will go a long way towards ridding local streets of rubbish and making the area a much safer and cleaner place."
