A 70-YEAR-OLD garden could be in line for a £15,000 revamp after years of neglect and vandalism left it in a "potentially dangerous" state.
The sunken garden in Victoria Park, near the Park Avenue entrance, has fallen into disrepair and has been identified as a high-risk area in a report to councillors.
The report to the Nelson Committee suggests ploughing £15,000 into replacing crazy paving, making the area accessible for the disabled and new planting.
Complete renovation of the site would cost £32,000 but there is no budget provision for this amount.
The report states: "This scheme, if accepted, would bring about the renovation of an historic part of Victoria Park that at the present time is in a dilapidated and potentially dangerous condition."
