POLICE in Rossendale are appealing for witnesses after a suspected thief was seen riding away from the scene of a break-in.
Officers were called to Bentwood Road, Haslingden, after a factory unit was broken into and £1,000 worth of property was stolen.
A red framed Barracuda mountain bike and a grinder were taken sometime between 8.30am and 1.45pm on Thursday.
Police said locals spotted a man on a bike of a similar description, riding away from the unit at 1.45pm.
The man is described as a white male, short dark hair, stocky build, wearing a green shirt and blue pants.
