A LEIGH golfer will toast a Lancashire brewery every time he switches the TV on after a close call in a prestigious golf tournament.
For winning the Daniel Thwaites Free Trade Northern Regional Invitation Golf Day, David Southern, 41, has collected a state-of-the-art widescreen TV.
And though the new TV is wide, David's winning margin certainly wasn't!
David tied on 39 points with Roger Wheeldon from Bentham Golf Club. He eventually claimed the prize on countback, having notched the best back nine.
