PHIL Starbuck has been a busy man since he returned from holiday, signing three players and giving another a deadline to agree a deal.
The Leigh RMI manager beat off the challenge of Stevenage and Northwich to land Barry Miller, his second centre-half capture from Unibond League champions Hucknall Town.
Starbuck snapped up Hucknall skipper Craig Gaunt two weeks ago and is delighted to have the pairing reunited. Miller, aged 28, was a trainee at Brentford, before playing for Wokingham, Farnborough, Gillingham and Doncaster.
Starbuck said: "He knows the type of football I want to play and he has turned down offers from other clubs to join me. I am delighted."
RMI have also signed Chris Lane, aged 25, a wing-back who impressed when he played two games for them in January, before joining Chester. A former trainee at Everton, Lane has played for Hereford, Southport and Morecambe.
Starbuck's third signing from Hucknall is 30-year-old midfielder Carl Adams, who will join the club for pre-season in an effort to prove his fitness.
