PROMISING teenage athlete Sharon Walls, from Leigh, has been in good form this season in the 100m hurdles.

Earlier this month, at the Loughborough International meeting, Wigan Harrier Sharon ran an impressive race to finish first in the 'A' Guest race, clocking a time of 13.67.

Following that she competed in the Bedford 2004 International meeting against the top senior international hurdlers in the UK.

Drawn in lane eight, not the best lane to be in, Sharon, 19, ran a good race to finish sixth in a time of 13.8.

Sharon has a PB time this season of 13.6 which puts her in second place overall in the UK rankings for U23 and in the top 10 of the senior rankings.

Coach Don Moss said: "I'm so proud of her. Sharon has been invited to the Senior AAA Championships and Olympic trials at the City of Manchester Stadium in July.

"Sharon's personal dream goal is to represent Great Britain and her country at international level. Potentially she has a very good chance. As progress is going in the right direction and as long as she can stay injury free and fully committed I would say she can achieve this."

Sharon is also looking for sponsorship. If anyone can help her achieve her dream contact Don Moss on 01257 483 623 or mobile 07950649314.
