COLLECTORS will have the chance to buy new artists' work at their first big exhibition next month.
The newly-formed and rapidly expanding Leigh Community Art Group is organising a free exhibition and sale in the Derby Room, Leigh Library, from July 2 to 31.
It will be officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress, Cllr and Mrs John Hilton, at a private viewing on July 1, when they will be presented with a cheque for the Mayor's charity, the premature baby unit at Wigan.
The group was formed last November when five local artists got together to provide facilities for amateur painters and anyone wishing to take up the brush. They meet each Monday between 7-9pm at The Orchards, Chatham Street, Leigh.
