TALENTED musicians turned out in force at the first acoustic session organised by a Lowton duo.
Guitarist John Ridyard and Gordon Shaw, who together make up "The Big Ask" decided to provide a monthly platform for live players at Lowton Labour Club and appealed to them to sign up for a show.
The first evening in May went down well and the second, though quieter, was also a great success.
Biomedical scientist John, who also plays harmonica, said the duo - soon to become a trio with the addition of a bass acoustic guitarist - had been encouraged to carry on the format and are once again inviting players to take the stage on the first Thursday of every month from 8.30pm.
Meanwhile The Big Ask's last gig as an acoustic duo is on Saturday, June 26 at 8.30pm at The Strangeways pub, Liverpool Road, Hindley, admission free. Further details from John on 01942 261706.
