LOWTON Community Sports College walked away with the top award at the Wooden Spoon Charity Marathon distance sprint relay.
With a time of 2hrs 7 minutes Lowton finished quickest and pledged £665 to the Wooden Spoon Society.With prizes for the most money pledged, the quickest time and also the Challenge Bowl Trophy awarded for the combination of the two, Lowton walked away with the spoils.
Nine schools competed and each team member had to complete a 40m shuttle and hand the baton onto their team mate, finishing when the marathon distance had been covered
The Wooden Spoon Society is a rugby charity set up to enhance the lives of children. It raised over £1 million last year for children disadvantaged by physical ability, as well as those suffering from social and mental deprivation.
