THE history of canal narrow boat art was explained to Billington and Langho WI members at their latest meeting.
Speaker Julie Brandon talked about popular castle and rose motifs, and gave a painting demonstration. Her talk was introduced by WI member Barbara Siddall.
Another member, Marie Smith, recently represented the Ribble Valley's four WI branches at a national annual WI meeting in Sheffield, and her report was read by Doreen Penny.
Birthday flowers were presented to Margaret Fulwell. The raffle was won by Margaret Patchett, Keeley Robinson and Nora Ashcroft.
The next branch meeting is on Monday, July 19, at 7.45pm.
