IAN Moore today paid a personal tribute to Stan Ternent as the former Burnley manager prepares for an emotional evening at Turf Moor.

The current Clarets side takes on the mighty Manchester United tonight, when a galaxy of stars will come out to celebrate a testimonial for Ternent for 10 years of service to the club.

And striker Moore, who became the club's record £1m signing under Ternent four years ago, led the tributes from inside the Clarets camp.

He said: "Stan was the man who signed me, so obviously I have a lot to thank him for.

"Through all the different things that have gone on during my time at Burnley, he was always there to speak to, so let's hope that everyone gets together tonight and gives him a final send-off that he can enjoy."

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has vowed to field a host of international stars in honour of old friend Ternent, whose association with the Clarets ended this summer when chairman Barry Kilby opted not to renew his managerial contract.

Reds' regulars Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Mikael Silvestre, Phil Neville, Diego Forlan and Ricardo will all feature at some stage.

And it promises to be a star-studded evening off the pitch too, with familiar faces from the world of football all being introduced to the crowd before the main event.

Former England, Arsenal and Burnley striker Ian Wright will lead the parade, which should also include Premiership managers Peter Reid, Bryan Robson, Steve Bruce and, David Moyes, along with former Burnley legends including Brian Flynn, Mitchell Thomas, Paul Fletcher and Steve Kindon.

There will also be plenty of entertainment around Turf Moor prior to the kick-off and at half time, with former Burnley goalkeeper Chris Pearce set to take part in a penalty shoot-out with supporters, who are reminded they can still pay on the gate.

Tickets for the game (7.30pm kick off), are priced at £16 (adults) and £6 (concessions), all around the stadium. Fans can pay on the gate.

Meanwhile, Clarets defender Michael Duff is the latest current player to be ruled out of tonight's game after receiving a late call-up to the Northern Ireland squad to face Switzerland tomorrow.

Duff has been on stand-by for the international friendly, but Northern Ireland boss Lawrie Sanchez has now called on the former Cheltenham stopper following withdrawals.

Along with Duff, Micah Hyde and Richard Chaplow will also be absentees tonight after linking up with Jamaica and the England U20s respectively.

And Clarets keeper Danny Coyne will also sit out the game after withdrawing from the Welsh squad to have further treatment on the ankle injury.
