BLACKBURN eight year-old Nathan Haworth could today become one of the youngest million dollar winners in a gaming competiton.
Beyblade champ Nathan, of Peel Mount, Knuzden, is currently in New York to compete in the World Beyblade Championships. He is currently ranked second out of the 10 competitors taking part.
He is also eligibile to take part in Beyblade Rumble - with a top prize of a cool $1 million.
Beyblades - Britain's biggest selling toy - are modern-day spinning tops. To win the huge cash prize on the million dollar spin, competitors must beat the record of spinning their Beyblade for 400 seconds without it stopping.
Nathan, said: "I don't know what I'd spend the money on. It is very exciting."
Nathan's dad, Philip, who is in New York with his son said: "He's here to win. He is very competitive.
"It has been brilliant, the atmosphere is fantastic and we are all just buzzing."
Philip, who is staying with wife Alison, Nathan's 11-year-old-sister Emily and his school pal, Lance Plachciak, said: "There is so much to see. But Nathan is taking it in his stride.
"He did fantastically in the UK competition."
