FRANK Sinclair believes being at Burnley could ease him back into the international fold.

The Jamaican defender, 32, missed out on a selection call for his country's two World Cup qualifiers this week against Panama and El Salvador.

But Sinclair, who earned the last of his 24 caps earlier this year, has not given up on making it a half century for the Reggae Boyz if he can build on the bright start to his new domestic career at Turf Moor.

"I haven't officially retired, but the last game I played was against Brazil at the Walkers Stadium at the beginning of this year," said Sinclair.

"I've not been involved since, simply because I haven't been called up, but if I got the call again I would certainly consider it.

"It would have to be right for Burnley Football Club and for me, but Micah Hyde is away with Jamaica at the moment and a few of the other players here have been involved, so it would be another boost for the club."

Hyde played for Jamaica in Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Panama, which leaves the Reggae Boyz bottom of their Concacaf qualifying group ahead of a make-or-break midweek clash in El Salvador.

Meanwhile, Sinclair has suffered a frustrating few days off before hitting the training ground in earnest again ahead of Saturday's crunch clash with Crewe Alexandra at Turf Moor.

And already, the former Leicester and Chelsea defender is calling for a return to winning ways as the Clarets seek their first home victory of the season.

Sinclair added: "I haven't enjoyed the break because I just like playing games. But in the first division there are a lot of international players now, so you have to get used to it.

"Now though our thoughts are about getting back on the winning trail again. The team as a whole needs that because, for the way we have played, especially at home, we don't feel we've amassed the points we deserve.

"That's something we've got to take care of as soon as possible and Crewe is the next opportunity."
