A TOURING exhibition of newly commissioned work, including shoes made from human hair and glass, is to appear at the Platform Gallery in Clitheroe.

'Footsteps', which opens on September 18, is an exhibition of mixed media and textiles that demonstrates the connection between commissioned contemporary fine art/craft works and source material from museum collections.

The exhibition will be on show until October 30th before continuing its national tour.

Also on show at the gallery this autumn is a showcase of new ceramics by 2004 graduates from the North West.

New Creators is one of a series of exhibitions co-ordinated by the Lancashire Arts & Crafts Initiative (LACi), a partnership between Lancashire County Museums Service and other Borough Councils within the county.

The initiative, now in its fourth year, has been set up to provide information, support and exhibition opportunities for young graduates at this crucial stage of their career.

The gallery is open Monday to Saturday, 10am-4.30pm. Admission free.
