MY father and brother were both regulars in the East Lancashire Regiment.
My father won the Military Cross in the 1914-1918 war and was recruiting sergeant at Canterbury Street Barracks, Blackburn until his death at 53 in 1939. He was an RSM and his name was Arthur William Lee.
My brother joined the Army as a band boy at 15 years of age in the same regiment and was a POW in the 1939-1945 war.
In respect to them and all the other soldiers concerned, the regiment should remain as it is.
G C BURNS (Mrs), Almond Street, Darwen.
