MYSELF and my family are backing your campaign to save Lancashire's regiment the QLR.
My son joined up just a year ago and is a private with the QLR. His first stage of basic training was at Bassingbourn, Cambridgeshire, where there were recruits from all over the UK. He met lots of lads and gradually the Lancashire lads all got together.
Initially he wasn't going to join the QLR, but halfway through his training he decided he'd rather be a 'soldier' than join the Logistics Corps.
These friendships carried on to the second stage of training at Catterrick. Whilst doing their basic training they all encouraged each other when times were tough. They all gained confidence.
They are now all posted in Cyprus proudly representing Lancashire.
