TWO brothers out on a "wetting the baby's head" celebration ended up arguing and fighting with a policeman, Bury magistrates were told.

Lee Evans, aged 24, and Scott Evans, aged 29, both of Water Lane Street, Radcliffe, admitted behaviour likely to cause fear of provocation of violence and possession of a quantity of cannabis.

Scott Evans also admitted assaulting a police officer in the execution of his duty.

The court was told that the brothers had been arguing in the street and when a policeman went to calm them down, they turned on him, forcing him to use his CS spray.

Stanley Sumara, defending, said: "They realised they had made a nuisance of themselves and seriously inconvenienced a police officer."

The brothers were each ordered to pay £265 in fines and costs. Scott Evans was also made the subject of a 100-hour community service order and ordered to pay £100 compensation.
