A BODYBUILDER, who turned to the sport after his dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer, is set to appear in a BBC documentary about what happens in country pubs.

Thirty-three-years-old muscleman, fire-eater and stripper Zacc Harvey will feature in the programme performing at one of his ladies' shows.

Scenes featuring Golborne star Zacc, which were shot at The Village Inn at Royton, will be broadcast in the next six months.

Zacc, who was crowned Mr Great Britain 2001 for his perfect physique, lost eight stone to take part in the competition.

His dad, James Harvey, was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2000, and Zacc decided to enter in his honour.

He said: "I didn't expect to win, but just wanted to enter the competition and make him proud. It was definitely worth all the hard work and losing all the weight."

James, who was Mr Great Britain 1980-82, passed away just two weeks after seeing his son win the competition in November 2001.

Zacc is indebted to Paul Crook, of Power Beck Sports, in Leigh, who advised him on nutrition, and helped him in his quest for success.

After the contest, a member of the audience suggested that Zacc go into male stripping.

He took the advice and is now a member of the British Chippendales, and appears at ladies' nights in pubs and clubs around the country.

Zacc has also worked on other television shows, including Trisha and Cheshire Sex, and is currently filming a show for Channel Four with Ken Morley and Julie Goodyear.

He hopes to work as a television and film extra in the future, and will continue to raise money for cancer charities.

Rugby fan Zacc was also part of the Wigan Warriors' final home league game of the season, carrying out the team's mascot last Friday, when they played against the Leeds Rhinos.

His next ladies' night is on Thursday at Stilettos, in Wigan.
