THE directors of an East Lancashire leisure furniture business that failed with debts of around £30,000 have been barred from holding a directorship for three years.

Alan Dean, 52, of Church Close, Waddington, was made subject to the order for his part in managing Ary (UK) Ltd, based in Albion House, Canal Street, Clayton-le-Moors.

Another director of the company, Gary White, 40, of Dick Lane, Brinscall, near Chorley, was given the same undertaking not to hold a directorship or take part in company management for three years.

Ary (UK) Ltd was placed into compulsory liquidation in October 2002 after amassing a total debt of £30,089.

The pair agreed a number of matters of unfit conduct with the Insolvency Service including that they made payments of £58,451 to an associated company, at which they were also directors, after Ary ceased to trade.

This was made when they owed HM Customs and Excise £29,186.

However, the pair have been given permission by Preston District Registry to act as directors of another firm, Gazelle Contract Furnishings Ltd, also based in Albion House, Clayton-le-Moors.
