MARK Yates is still seeking his first win as reserve team manager after Burnley went down to a 1-0 defeat at Chester City.

But Yates is happy his young guns are on the right track after the Clarets came away unfortunate not to follow up last week's draw against Carlisle

United with another deserved point.

"We did okay again," insisted Yates. "We did everything but score really and we weren't without chances in the second half.

"We didn't play quite as well as we did last week...'

, but I thought we could've got something out of the game.

"We're still looking for our first win of the season, but I'm sure it will come soon because the lads are getting better.

"They are playing against older and more experienced players than they are used to facing, but we're getting there and the lads are learning all the time."

After a sluggish start, when City grabbed the only goal midway through the first half, Burnley battled their way back into the game.

But despite creating several opportunities after the break, the youngsters - again mostly apprentices bolstered by Yates' inclusion - the goal just would not come.
