CHORLEY assistant manager Mickey Graham believes the Magpies' luck is about to turn.

Graham felt the UniBond First Division side deserved at least a point from a promising performance in their derby with Clitheroe.

Instead they were beaten 3-1 after being rocked by a controversial penalty.

But Graham, who has been in temporary charge in the absence of manager John Hughes, is confident it is only a matter of time before his side gets results.

"It was hard to know what to say on Tuesday night because there were so many positives to take out of the game," Graham said.

"At the end of the day, we came away without any points, but if we keep up that level of performance it won't be long before results go our way.

"We've got to be happy with the progress we're making and hopefully results like the one at Clitheroe won't knock them too much.

"I wouldn't swap places with anyone in the division because I can see the potential in the side and that's something to focus on.

"If we can get back to back wins together then I can see that setting us off on a run."

Graham was particularly impressed with Paul Carvill, who scored on his debut after arriving at Victory Park on a month's loan from Accrington Stanley.

The young Irish winger is likely to remain in an unchanged starting line-up for tomorrow's home game against Eastwood Town if he has fully recovered from a bug that hampered him on Tuesday night.
