WALKDEN'S Australian professional Peter Roach was in top form with the bat when Greenmount slid to their latest defeat at Brandlesholme Road.
Roach smashed an unbeaten 119 as the reigning Bolton League champions blasted 255 for 2 from their 50 overs in a vain bid to pip Westhoughton to their crown.
David Smith hit 57 and featured in an opening stand of 142 with the paid man while Sam Reidy finished unbeaten on 50 as the village side's bowlers felt the full force.
That target was always going to be too much for the local side who lost runs at alarming regularity.
Only their own professional, Indian Nishit Shetty, showed any resistence, hitting 57, before the evergreen Derek Kay hit 30 while featuring in a stubborn last wicket stand with youngster Nick Barr. Greenmount ended all out for 179.
