DESPITE only claiming two wins from six games, no-one at Stainton Park is remotely in the vicinity of the panic button.

However, things are not all they should be.

"I'm not happy, said Boro boss Kevin Glendon after seeing his side lose at home again, going down 2-1 to Bamber Bridge

"We're just not clicking, we're just not right and I've got more work than I thought I had.

"We missed Paul Challinor at the back. He's been different class and it's no coincidence that we've only conceded one goal in three games with him in the side.

"We were also missing Davey Luker with a septic toe, both of them would have made a difference.

"However, I brought Ciaran Kilheeney in on loan from Droylsden and he scored our goal.

"We've got him for one month and we might get another out of him, depending on what happens at Droylsden."

All teams suffer occasional blips and that's just what Glendon sees this early season form as, a blip.

"It's early days and it's a good time for things not to go to plan, because there is plenty of time to sort things out," he said.

"I've got to look at the system I've been using for the past six or seven years. Half the lads are comfortable with it, the others aren't.

"I need to reduce the size of the squad in any case because I don't think it's good for the players, they're not relaxing so there will be new faces coming in and a few old faces leaving, hopefully by the weekend.

"Our goals against column has been excellent but goals for has left a lot to be desired.

"It's a combination of the forwards not getting the right kind of service and then when they do get it not making the most of it."

Another player change may be forced on him.

"Goalkeeper Danny Hurst is getting worse and now that Barry George is back I'm going to have to make a decision.

"It looks like Danny has a hernia and it's affecting his game, he can't kick dead balls, which puts pressure on the defence, so I need to sort that out."

Helping matters will be the fact he has now completed his five-game touchline ban.

"It has not been too bad at home, just the other side of a wall, but away, at places like Gateshead I've been quite far away, which I've not enjoyed at all."

Restored to the dugout, he is now hopeful that he can steer his team towards a home win.

"We've lost two and drawn one at home now, and it's been noticeable that Tuesday nights have not helped," he said.

"There has been no atmosphere, no enthusiasm and we've put on lacklustre performances. Hopefully we can put a stop to that this weekend."

Saturday's opponents are fifth-from-bottom Blyth Spartans and kick-off is at 3pm.
