LEIGH & District Soccer League championship favourites Asda Golborne kicked off the new campagin with a resounding 7-0 thrashing of Atherton Liberal Club.
Hill led the rout with a hat-trick and there were other goals from Munro (2), Flannery and Millard.
There were home wins for Aspull, Atherton Sports & Social Club and AFC Tyldesley with Leigh Legion the only side to pick up an away victory.
Aspull edged out Fir Tree Rangers Reserves 2-1 with goals from Parkinson and Turner with Ainscough replying for Rangers.
Goals from Jackson, McPike, Anderson and Seddon gave Atherton S&S a 4-1 win against De La Salle. Cooper netted twice for AFC Tyldesley in their 3-0 win over Atherton Colls Reserves. Howells scored Tyldesley's other goal.
A hat-trick from Hardman and two more by Hindley brought Leigh Legion a 5-2 success at Rope & Anchor. Rope's goals were scored by Taylor and Neill.
