TYLDESLEY Probus Club had a glimpse of life as a modern ambulanceman.
Eddie Barlow, a Greater Manchester Ambulance Service paramedic and community liaison officer, told members about life in the service.
When he started, learning was done on the job, now new entrants take a 10 weeks residential course and become technicians. Many later take a further 12 weeks course to become paramedics.
