THE man behind the speech and drama section of Burnley Festival has urged more schools to get involved.
The festival, which has been running since 1933, was held on Saturday at Central Methodist Church, Burnley.
Geoffrey Burrows, secretary of the speech and drama section and chairman of the festival, said the event attracted 150 entries from across the North West.
But he added that the numbers were slightly down on last year.
He said: "We would like more people to get involved, especially the local schools.
"We would also like more people to come and and listen as it's not only extremely entertaining, it's very informative."
Overall winner of the festival was Chorley's Nicola West, while Jennifer Morris of Clayton-le-Woods won the Fenton Award.
