COUNCILLOR Boden, answering Jim Homewood's recent letter, implies that those opposing the EU Constitution are part of a right-wing alliance.
I can assure the councillor that many of Mr Homewood's generation are true socialists of the old school, and have always fought in defence of the democratic rights of this country.
I would also advise Coun Boden that people right across the political, ethnic, and religious spectrum are opposed to the EU Constitution, and would rather rely on the Magna Carta of 1215, and the Bill of Rights 1689 for protection, than from the EU.
The fact is that people have arrived on our shores because of these centuries-old democratic rights and I, and others, will continue to fight to retain those truly British rights.
