Two sisters sick of having to find the perfect tailor decided to do something about it.

Shamim Hussain of Bolton and Nasim Khan of Rawtenstall have launched their own do-it-yourself DVD entitled Apna Libas which gives a step by step guide on how to sew your own clothes.

Shamim, a mother of three, said, A cousin of mine had just come back from Dubai, with a suitcase full of suits and was debating whether to pay someone else to get them sewn or to attempt to have a go at sewing them herself.

At that point we had an idea. What could be more perfect than having a master tailor in your own home, who could guide you step-by-step to produce beautiful garments?

The dilemma is faced by millions of women, especially in Europe. Where do I now get these clothes sewn? Shall I pay someone for sewing the clothes, which could cost more than the fabric itself?

Or should I struggle and sew the clothes myself and save a bit of money - but then leave them in the wardrobe never to be worn again.?

With this in mind both sisters decided to turn their idea into reality. After months of hard work and determination they set-up Nspire Productions and produced a DVD.

Shamim, who is also a midwife at a Manchester hospital added, The step-by-step guide shows you how to make everything from plain shalwaar kameezs to trouser suits.

The three hour DVD takes no short cuts.

The Master tailor teaches you all the tricks of the trade and the DVD comes in Urdu or English.

The DVD was released on March 7 2005.
