CHILDREN'S charity MedEquip4Kids is asking people to take up a challenge to help sick youngsters.

The Prestwich-based group is looking for those who enjoy action and adventure to sail, cycle or climb to raise much-needed funds.

Possible journeys include trekking across the Great Wall of China, a motorcycle challenge in India, and to Lapland on the husky trail.The vital work of MedEquip4Kids, based in George Street, help to fund vital equipment for hospitals to help children that go in and out of hospital.

In the past six months the charity has funded a phototherapy unit for the neonatal unit at Fairfield Hospital.

Last year MedEquip4Kids supplied more than £289,000 worth of essential paediatric equipment to 19 hospitals across the region.

l The charity is still looking for teams to compete in its own version of television's toughest quiz, The Krypton Factor.

Teams of four are being invited to compete against each other to raise money for the charity on May 7 and 8.

The assault course test will once again be held on Holcombe Moor.
