Residents have expressed their concerns about the amount of water in the stream in Swain Lane which, at times, fails to contain the the great weight of water in the hillside.
It is classed as non-main watercourse which means it is the responsibility of Burnley Council.
The drainage given by the stream is inadequate to prevent the area from continual saturation and thus it does not take much extra water to seep through to properties in Wallhurst Close.
Burnley Council does not have a specific budget for land drainage schemes and even if there was, it is probably doubtful if anything could be done to reduce the amount of water flowing towards Wallhurst Close.
