Competition at the top of the first division still continues with both leader Blackburn Seniors “A” and Westholme “A” fighting for the title. With 16 points just separating the two sides, Blackburn Seniors completely outplayed Halsteads, and although dropping two games they were able to claim 22 bonus points and increase their lead at the top.

On the following evening Westholme “A” were determined to catch up on lost ground easily outplayed St Philips by securing 18 of the 20 games, but their aggregate was slightly reduce in comparison to the leader, but they were still able to clinch 22 bonus points and still remain 16 points behind, but they do have a gamer in hand overt the leaders and this could prove a deciding advantage when their postponed game is played. Whilst Clitheroe are having problems with availability of players for their three teams, the “A” team were able to take a 14 – 6 victory over Tag and retain their third place in the table.

However, their “C” team were hard pressed when they suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of Independent “A”, but still maintain their fourth place.

In the second division, there was an exciting match played at Bamber Bridge when Whitehall entertained Independent “B”. With games shared after the mixed doubles, it was a question as to who would hold their nerve going into the level doubles. The men from Whitehall proved to be the better pairings and took 3 of the events, but the ladies from Independent were equal in their quest to save the match and with the final score finishing 10 – 10 the home side were able to claim a moral victory by 3 aces. St Nicholas climb up the table as a result of their emphatic defeat of lowly College by taking fifteen of the games. Competitive Stanhill found the going hard when they went down 13 – 7 against second placed Abacus “A”.

In the third division second placed Abacus “B” found the going hard in spite of securing the match 13 - 7 but finished only with a single aces advantage at the end. Leaders Blackburn Seniors “B” only dropped a single game in a one-sided match against Roefield “B”.
