A ROYAL Navy helicopter whipped up a storm when it landed on school playing fields.
The Sea King helicopter landed on the fields at St Peter and St Paul’s CofE Primary School, Rishton, as part of the Royal Navy’s school education programme.
During the visit pupils were were given a look around the aircraft and spoke to the pilots who had just returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
The visit had been organised by John Wyper, the father of two pupils at the school, Olivia, 10, and nine-year-old Emma.
He works for the Royal Navy as a recruitment officer.
Headteacher Anthony Greenhalgh said: “A visit like this makes coming to school exciting.”
We want to say a big thank you to the pilots and to John for organising this.”
