A YOUNG Darwen accountant has been ranked 22 in the world after finishing her apprenticeship.
Katie Taylor, 23, from the Sudell area, studied for her Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) audit examination results with Blackburn-based training 2000.
Having achieved four AS Levels at college, she felt she needed a change from traditional class-room learning.
Set on a career in accountancy, an apprenticeship allowed her to continue learning while getting hands-on experience at work.
Katie currently works for the Blackburn-based accountants, Egan Roberts, and was placed 22 in the world for her recent exam results.
She said: “The great thing about training while working is that you are learning new skills every single day, as well as having a better understanding of the job you are undertaking.”
Gill Makin, Career Development Adviser at Training 2000 said: “Katie is a fantastic exa-mple of how vocational qualifications can be an excellent pathway into a career of choice.
“Having achieved her dream, she is now a qualified accountant and I am sure she’ll go far in her chosen career.”
