A POLICE officer who has been commended for bravery and his crime-busting work is the new inspector for the Ribble Valley.
Inspector Chris Saville, who replaces Insp Jenny Coulston, said he wanted to keep crime low in the borough.
The father-of-two, said: “Currently the Ribble Valley is in the top five safest places to live in the country and I am looking forward to making sure that it stays that way.”
The 44-year-old received a Chief Constable's Commendation for bravery when he foiled an armed robbery in Accrington in 1996.
And during his time in the Pennine Division he received another Chief Constable's Commendation for his exceptional crime-busting work in Barnoldswick, which led to a considerable reduction in crime – 80 per cent in burglary and 25 per cent overall.
