CHILDREN stopped off at an innovative mobile community centre bus for some entertainment over the summer holidays.
The £35,000 neighbourhood bus kitted out with the latest technology such as a wide screen TV, Play Stations and other gaming stations was in Corporation Park, Blackburn, for a family day.
An afternoon of games and fun was provided on the bus for families at the popular park off Preston New Road.
The event was organised by four extending schools locality coordinators who are employed by clusters of schools within Blackburn with Darwen They were also supported by staff from two of the borough's children’s centres.
On board, there are also facilities for meetings, talks, break out sessions, meals and tea and coffee. There is also a DVD and CD player.
Councillor Chris Thayne, executive member for children’s services for Blackburn with Darwen Council, said: “It was also a good opportunity to promote the Off For Fun summer brochure.”
