Hyndburn Inter-Faith Forum members and Great Harwood Christian and Muslim communities met in the town.

Around 50 people heard from Nasrullah Ahmed from the Lancashire Council of Mosques who spoke on the importance and the place of caring for the environment in Islam.

Suzanne Dixon from Christian Aid spoke of the situation in Burkina Faso, affected by rapidly deteriorating climatic conditions, and Gemma Tomlinson from The PROSPECTS Foundation spoke of their work in Hyndburn to improve the environment for the local population, as well as improving conditions for the flourishing flora and fauna of the area.

After the meeting most participants stayed on to network together.

The report for this meeting can shortly be found on the website, www.hyndburncommunitynetwork.org.uk.
