A FIRM of Rossendale solicitors welcomed Burnley FC Chief Executive Paul Fletcher to a golf event which saw thousands of pounds raised for the valley’s hospice.
The golf day, which brought together a number of teams from businesses in the region, took place at the Valley golf club.
Local businessmen battled it out on the course for various golfing honours before taking part in an auction of sporting memorabilia.
One of the top prizes was a magnum of champagne donated by the clarets and signed by Burnley manager Owen Coyle.
Woodcocks Senior Partner, Roger Medlock, said: “We were delighted that Burnley’s Chief Executive, Paul Fletcher, agreed to help out with the auction.
“It was a marvellous event.
“Not only did we raise money for three very special causes, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
“We were even lucky enough to have great weather for the golf.”
Paul Fletcher was auction master and presented the prizes raising more than £4,000 for three charities.
£3,000 was donated to Rossendale Hospice, £1,000 to Breakthrough Breast Cancer and £100 to the Lions junior golf team.
