A BLACKBURN charity shop is asking sponsors to give their premises a boost by replacing its shabby carpet with brand new flooring.
The Cancer Research outlet in Town Hall Street is on the lookout for a donation that will pay for laminate flooring or someone who can provide the material free of charge.
Regional manager Mary Hines, 50, said: “Our sales figures have shown throughout the North West that improvements to the decor in our stores lead to their profits jumping by a fifth. “All of this money is ploughed back into cancer research and this makes a huge difference to people’s lives.
“Currently, the carpet in the shop is in a dreadful condition with chewing gum stuck to it. With the help of a generous sponsor we could turn the situation around and get more people to walk through our door.”
