An 18-year-old man has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with an armed robbery at a Chinese takeaway in the town on Sunday.
Mark Houlgrave, of The Foyer, Princes Street, is charged with robbing Xing Fu takeaway, Hereford Road, Whitebirk, of £32 and possessing a firearm with intent to commit robbery.
He was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court.
Police said a balaclava-wearing man went into the shop at 6.40 pm and brandished a black pistol as he demanded the takings from the till.
Another 18-year-old man, also arrested, has been bailed until September 21 pending further inquiries.
