COMEDY shows can be so diverse - that’s part of their appeal.

You get the challenging ones, the silly ones and with Rob Brydon you get the warm and friendly one.

For over 90 minutes Brydon took hold of a sold out hall and appeared completely at ease chatting away and throwing in the odd impression for good measure.

It’s a formula which works spectacularly well - Brydon is an engaging, energetic character who struck up a rapport from the word go.

At a time when other Gavin and Stacey luminaries James Corden and Mat Horne are finding life away from the hit series harder than expected, Brydon showed them just how it should be done.

This was one of the most enjoyable shows you’re likely to see all year - no wonder a spell in the West End awaits.

We even got a bit of Uncle Bryn and Islands in the Stream thrown in as an encore.

What more could you want from a night out?
