Volunteers from Clitheroe manufacturing firm 3M been working to encourage amphibians at Salthill Quarry nature reserve.
They have been clearing a large overgrown pond on the site and developing suitable habitat for frogs, toads and newts.
Phil Dykes, Ribble Valley local nature reserve officer for Lancashire Wildlife Trust, has discovered frog spawn at the pond this week.
He said: “This is a tremendous success.
“Frog spawn has not been seen here for many years and it is a tribute to the hard work of our friends from 3M that the frogs are returning.”
