PENDLE MP Gordon Prentice has renewed calls for an official inquiry into the Iraq War.
The MP was speaking at Westminster following an Opposition Day debate, called by the Conservatives. He urged the Tories to “show some humility” because without them we would never have gone to war.
He said: “Only six Conservatives voted against the war, whereas 140 Labour members voted against it, as well as, creditably, the Liberals and the other minor parties.
“We need a full, comprehensive public inquiry. My preference would be for a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry, with full powers to call for papers and summon persons.”
