A NORTH West Euro MP says he was tear gassed and knocked to the ground by Israel troops during a demonstration.
Lib Dem Chris Davies said he had been taking part in a peaceful protest against the theft of Palestinian land.
The protest took place on Friday near Jerusalem, over the building by Israel of a dividing wall that opponents say is confiscating huge areas of Palestinian land.
Mr Davies, a member of the European Parliament’s official delegation to Palestine, was not hurt but said he was shocked.
